Wellgo B52 pedals
Avid Juicy 3 brakes
Shimano SLX Shadow rear mech
Shimano Deore front mech
Shimano Deore shifters

Maxxis Minion front tyre 2.35
Maxxis High Roller rear tyre 2.35
FSA Orbit Pro Extreme Headset
Raceface AM stem
GT oversize bars
Hope QR seat clamp and wheel skewers
Superstar grips
Charge Spoon saddle

Not bad for around £1200k. Was £1k originally, but the headset, tyres, clamp/skewers, pedals, chainrings/bash, saddle, stem and grips have been upgrade/replacements but that’s only about £200 worth. Originally came with a cheap but functional FSA headset and Maxxis Ignitor tyres which are decent enough.

Have been thinking of changing the front fork to something a bit more advanced and slacken the head angle slightly. 140mm should be fine. 150mm at a push.

Edit: After an off, bike took no damage other than the saddle. Really robust. My back on the other hand took some damage, along with the head. So replaced saddle (was a SDG Bel Air, now Charge Spoon).

snapped one of them across the weld at the i-drive pivot complained got the model up the elite 6.

There’s always a way to snap a bike if you try hard enough :). Still, I’ve thrown this down all kinds of stuff and so far okay. Good job on the upgrade though. Always worth complaining. I forget what the warranty is on the frame. 1 year or more?

  • camie

just a year on it mine was just over but because of the nature of the snap (a substandard weld) they had to replace it to the same spec or greater. thanks to gt’s very good customer satisfaction i got the model up which after having every part replaced (thew want rather than need) is a piece of expensive art. i was so upset at first but the new frame is a good improvement. the extra travel helps

even though looking at yours i remember exactly why i bought it in the first place

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, or something like that. Though wouldn’t claim it’s a thing of beauty but does the job.
